Generating Chick Availability from the Hatchery

Create a hatch plan so projected chicks show up as available to sell.

Overview

Availability comes from hatch plans. A plan sets a batch of eggs into incubation and schedules the hatch; the system then projects the chicks that batch will produce. Create one plan and read the numbers on the availability tabs.

Step 1 — Open a new hatch plan

1. Go to Hatches → Hatch Plans.
2. Click the orange + to open New Hatch Plan.

Step 2 — Set the dates

1. Enter a Number.
2. Set the Set Date (the day eggs go into incubation) and the Hatch Date.

Step 3 — Add the eggs being set

1. Under Details, click ADD ROW.
2. Double-click the Breed cell and type to pick the breed.
3. Set the Flock Production (the source flock) and the Set Count (number of eggs set).
4. Enter Viable Eggs % so the projection reflects fertility.

Step 4 — Save

1. Click Save. The plan appears in the list with status Planned.

Step 5 — Check availability

1. Open the right-hand Chick Availability tab.
2. Select your product(s) and a date range.
